fun fact! I was sick recently and it proved what I’ve suspected for a while: my body has a favorite coping mechanism, which is to reset to Glasgow time when sick or under stress.
Dear Body,
I think it’s really cute that you think you have a system restore setting, but you don’t. Please stop waking up at 230 am and going to bed at 6 when you are sick or stressed. That is when it is least helpful. If I could take you back to Glasgow I would.

I also learned that it is, in fact, not only possible but easy to dehydrate yourself when you have the flu (just like your mother warned you) and that if your nose magically stops running, it is not a miracle it is a warning of impending doom.
