secrets secrets

Recently, instead of being studious, I have began watching tv.

Yes, I know. I still hold the theory that television rots your soul and numbs your brain.

But this isn't just any television.

It's

(wait for it)

DUN DA DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

DOCTOR QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!

I even have this little song I sing before hitting play and pushing off homework for another episode. It goes like this: Docta Quinn, Medicine Woman. Docta Quinn

I kind of love it.

My friend Mimi, who got me into it, told me that she is reasonably sure that her image of the ideal male was partially formed through watching Dr Quinn as a kid. I can TOTALLY see where she's coming from on that one
That got me to thinking
So, off the top of my head, I would say my image of the ideal mate was formed (in part) by the following fictional characters:

Gilbert Blythe (Anne of Greene Gables)
Mr. Darcy (Pride and Predjudice... and no, I haven't the foggiest idea why)
Jim Halpert (the Office... so?)
Arnold (hey Arnold)
The Cookie Monster (I like his passion)

So what I want to know is, what characters developed your idea of the ideal mate? GO

ps- today's forecast: Rather cloudy with rain, sleet and snow at times.

update: Dr. Quinn gets boring around the middle of the second season. I stopped watching. Also, I have no idea how I forgot Sir Peter Whimsy from the list, as I am and will always be madly in love with him.

  1. um...
i pretty much have to agree with all that you posted; especially gilbert. and arnold.
and the native american guy from a book called Buffalo Gal. pretty sure my sister bought that book at a garage sale, which was probably previously bought buy someone's grandma at a CVS.
    read it anyway.

also, my friend emily bennett during small group one time when we were talking about looking for romance in other places in our life confessed she got hers from Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

  2. tough, but i'd have to go with a mix of...

    Elizabeth Bennet
    Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing)
    Hermione Granger
    Starbuck
    with a dash of Eponine

i'm going to have to think about this some more. if this were chess, my hand would still be on the piece.
